CRMB
Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB) is a specialized material created by blending bitumen with finely ground particles sourced from old tires. This unique blend significantly enhances road performance, particularly in colder climates. It improves resistance to damage, thereby extending the lifespan of roads by making them stronger and more durable.
PMB
Polymer Modified Bitumen enhances conventional bitumen with polymer additives, dramatically improving performance for heavy-duty traffic and extreme weather conditions. It's engineered bitumen designed for modern infrastructure challenges. PMB types can be further categorized by grade, which signifies their performance level. Common grades include PMB 40 and PMB 70, each suited for different climates and traffic conditions.
PG Bitumen
Bitumen Performance Grade or PG is a type of bitumen which is graded according to its performance in different temperatures. PG bitumen grading system is based on the bitumen performance in low, medium and high temperatures. For example, the PG 58-34 means this grade can be used in an area where its maximum temperature is 58 and its lowest temperature is -34 degree celsius.
MC Bitumen
MC bitumen (Medium Curing) is a modified type of bitumen made by combining pure bitumen with a petroleum solvent. This type of bitumen is produced according to the international standard ASTM D 2027M-13, containing 64% pure bitumen and 36% petroleum solvent. The addition of the petroleum solvent ensures that Medium Curing bitumen remains liquid at room temperature, making it easy to use in specific conditions, especially in road construction.
SC Bitumen
Slow Curing (SC) cut-back bitumen is produced by dissolving 85/100 bitumen in heavy solvents such as diesel or other fuels. These solvents evaporate slowly, leading to the gradual hardening of the bitumen. SC cut-back bitumen is typically used in road construction, waterproofing, and industrial applications. Its unique feature compared to regular bitumen is its gradual hardening due to slow solvent evaporation, enhancing performance and long-term durability in various environmental conditions.
RC Bitumen
Rapid Curing (RC) liquid bitumen, identified by the RC abbreviation, is produced using light solvents like naphtha. Once applied to a project, the solvent quickly evaporates, leaving behind pure bitumen that retains its original properties. RC cut-back bitumen can be made using pure bitumen with a specific penetration grade or performance grade (PG). This type of bitumen is black and manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2028m standards.
